The Rotary Club of Comber

Hello and Welcome to The Rotary Club of Comber.

My name is Denis Boyd and I am the President of The Rotary Club of Comber which was founded in 1986.

Over the years we have pioneered projects both on a National and International level which aim to support and assist people and communities.

The Rotary motto is “Service above Self” and we demonstrate this by volunteering our time, energy and know-how to the many projects that are planned each year.

We are actively involved in youth events including The Northern ireland Young Musician Competition, YouthLeadership Development, Interview Techniques for School Leavers and Young Writer competition to name but a few.

We also publicise health in our community by holding Blood Pressure Clinics and support Local Charities through our annual Remembrance Tree at Christmas.

Internationally we are part of the Rotary Campaign to eliminate Polio worldwide which commenced in 1985 and now has just three countries remaining to be completed in order to have the virus deemed eliminated throughout this world.

We also participate in the School Bikes For Africa campaign and support entrepreneurs in third- world countries through the provision of finance under the Lend With Care programme.

This is but a brief outline of what we do as members of Rotary.
